This session will help all leaders understand the definitions and insights into diversity, equity, and inclusion and each one's vital part in building a stronger organization.
The 90-minute remote session will cover:
- The Basics and Definitions
- Why Now?
- Using Emotional Intelligence
- Unconscious or Implicit Bias
- Ideas for building a DEI Plan
If you're a volunteer or staff leader at your association or you're a managing broker, you'll learn more about making DEI in your organization an ongoing practice.
About the Instructor:
ALICE A. MARTIN, RCE, GRI
Alice is a nationally recognized presenter and facilitator. Over her 35 year career, she has facilitated over 120 strategic planning sessions, dozens of volunteer leadership development and training programs, including many sessions with REALTOR® association executives (AEs). She also was recognized as a professional standards trainer, and lead trainer of NAR’s At Home with Diversity and Home from Work, an NAR affordable housing workshop, She is was instrumental in the development of the U.S. version of the NAR REALTOR® Leadership Program (RLP) and was an NAR facilitator for nearly ten years when that program was offered.
Alice’s consulting business was joined by Ginger Downs in May of 2018. Since the inception of Martin & Downs, Association Consulting Solutions in May 2018, M&D has provided services and training to over 65 associations, including planning, training, executive search, and much more.
Alice lives in Chicago with her husband of nearly 35 years, Don, who is a veteran broker and real estate trainer, and their two cats, (down from 6 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 aquariums). Her grown daughters live in Denver, CO and Chandler, AZ respectively. Alice truly bleeds REALTOR® blue!
